Markup & Margin Calculator

Find selling price, profit, markup and margin from your cost. Nothing leaves your browser.

How it works

Price = cost x (1 + markup/100). Price = cost / (1 - margin/100). Markup = profit / cost x 100. Margin = profit / price x 100. Results are rounded to two decimals.

FAQ

What is the difference between markup and margin?

Markup is profit as a percentage of cost. Margin is profit as a percentage of the selling price. Selling at 90 something that cost 60 is a 50% markup but a 33.33% margin.

How do I calculate selling price from margin?

Divide cost by 1 minus the margin as a decimal. A cost of 60 and a 40% margin gives 60 / 0.6 = 100.

Does this include tax or fees?

No. It works only on the cost and price you enter, so it ignores tax, shipping and fees.
