Turn a title into a clean URL slug. Nothing leaves your browser.
Accents are removed, & becomes "and", apostrophes are dropped, every other run of symbols or spaces becomes one separator, and separators at the start and end are trimmed. A length limit cuts the slug and removes any trailing separator.
A slug is the readable last part of a web address, such as my-first-post in example.com/blog/my-first-post. It is usually lowercase words joined by hyphens.
Hyphens are the usual choice for URLs. Google's documentation recommends hyphens because they separate words clearly. Underscores are offered here for file names and code.
Accented letters lose their accents (café becomes cafe), & becomes and, apostrophes are dropped, and any other symbol or space becomes one separator.
